Setting up your Ambie Player via a Wi-Fi Network

In order to connect your Ambie Player to your Wi-Fi network, you will need the following:

  • A laptop or computer that can connect to a wireless network
  • Google Chrome installed on that laptop or computer
  • You will need to know the name of the wireless network you want the Ambie Player to connect to
  • You will need to know the password for the wireless network you want the Ambie Player to connect to

IMPORTANT: The Ambie player can only connect to a secure wireless network, that is password protected. The Ambie player cannot connect to a network that requires registration (submission of email address, DoB, room number etc.)

Step 1

Ensure your Ambie Player is connected to a power source. To do this, please use the power
supply provided in your Ambie package. Plug the micro-USB end into the Ambie Player and
plug the other end into an electricity socket. Please do not connect an Ethernet cable into the player.

Step 2

Wait around 30 seconds from connecting your player to the power socket, then search for available wireless networks on your laptop/computer. You will see a network called “Ambie-Bridge-XXXXX”. Connect to this network using the DEVICE CODE from your Ambie Player. The DEVICE CODE is an eight letter code. You can find this on the sticker on the underside of your Ambie Player.

Step 3

Once you’ve successfully connected your laptop/computer to the Ambie-Bridge-XXXXX network, open up Google Chrome. In the address bar of your browser, type in 172.24.1.1, then press ENTER on the keyboard Select the Wi-Fi network.

Step 4

You should now have reached a page that looks like this:

Proceed through the set up instructions on your screen. This will include submitting your DEVICE CODE once more, before selecting the wireless network you want the Ambie player to connect to, and then submitting the password for that network. Please ensure you check that the password is correct before connecting.

Step 5

Unplug your player from the power, wait 1 full minute, then plug back in. This reboot is needed to successfully finish the Wi-Fi setup.
